Background and Training
Luís Duarte was born in Angola in 1966 and returned to Portugal at age nine. He completed his winemaking studies at the Universidade de Trás-os-Montes e Alto Douro in 1989, establishing a foundation in traditional Portuguese viticulture and winemaking. His career quickly distinguished itself through a combination of consulting work and his own label, earning national recognition well before founding Luís Duarte Vinhos.
