Location and Terroir
Ridgeview Wine Estate sits near Ditchling village within the South Downs National Park, at elevations of 120 to 180 metres above sea level. The soils are chalk and Upper Greensand, the same geological foundation that underpins the great Champagne vineyards of northern France. A cool maritime climate prevails, with August mean temperatures around 16.5°C. These conditions drive slow, even ripening that preserves the natural acidity essential for high-quality sparkling wine.

Grape and Winemaking
The Grosvenor Blanc de Blancs is made entirely from Chardonnay sourced from Ridgeview's home estate, which covers 5.8 hectares. The wine is produced by the traditional method, with secondary fermentation in bottle and a minimum of 36 to 48 months of ageing sur lie in underground cellars. This extended lees contact builds complexity and the characteristic creamy, brioche-like texture. Production is limited to single vintage releases in exceptional years only.
