Origins and Philosophy
Viña Von Siebenthal was founded in 1998 when Swiss lawyer Mauro von Siebenthal left his legal profession at age 40 to pursue winemaking in Chile's Aconcagua Valley. The first 10 hectares were planted in Panquehue that same year, the cellar was completed in 2000 in a traditional casona style, and the first commercial harvest followed in 2002. The entire estate was designed according to a Bordeaux château philosophy, with vineyards surrounding the winery and a focus on small-production, terroir-driven winemaking. Stefano Gandolini has served as winemaker since the estate's inception.

Terroir and Location
The estate occupies 30 hectares in the Panquehue sub-appellation of Aconcagua Valley, a semi-desert region situated between the Andes and the Pacific Ocean. The climate is dry Mediterranean with wide thermal amplitude; warm, sunny days are balanced by consistently cool nights. Soils vary meaningfully across the property: clay-limestone dominates the plains, while the hillside parcels feature warm sandy and stony soils with granite sections. This variation in soil type underpins the estate's range of grape varieties and wine styles.

Grapes and Wines
Von Siebenthal grows seven varieties across its 30 hectares: Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, Carmenère, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Petit Verdot, and Viognier. The estate produces six red wines and one white. Standout labels include the Toknar Petit Verdot, Tatay de Cristóbal Carmenère, Parcela 7 blend, Carabantes Syrah, and the Riomístico Viognier. Organic farming principles are applied throughout, with reduced yields used to intensify aromas. Winemaking follows cold maceration and slow, gentle fermentation, with wines aged up to 24 months in oak (75% French, 25% American) before light filtration.
