The Diffonty family's connection to Châteauneuf-du-Pape stretches back to 1673, making them one of the longest-established viticultural families in the appellation. By 1900 founder Félicien Désiré Diffonty held 2 hectares of vines at Châteauneuf, and in 1929 his son Marius built the family house, vats, and a small foudre cellar at the current site.
